After the release of the 18EX, which corresponds to the 18 EXIST, several years ago, it received high praise for its drag and waterproof performance, especially for sea bass fishing.
This time, the 22EX4000 is introduced, matching the high quality coloring of the 22 EXIST without changing its high performance.

Multi-cut spool rings with a different flying dimension



A large variable cut surface has been introduced at the bottom of the spool ring while the taper angle of the spool ring is closer to that of distance-first throw reels.
The multi-cut surface slightly resists the ejected line immediately after casting, rectifying the ejected line and preventing casting problems.
In the mid to late stages of casting, the lure's casting speed slows down due to aerodynamic drag, and the line released from the spool has less momentum, and its loop expands to reduce contact with the variable cut surface.
Since the released line only touches the upper end of the spool ring, the tapered angle of low resistance results in minimal release resistance.


Absolutely Waterproof "Cassette Drag"



Flooding due to water landing on the reel is inevitable in sea bass fishing, especially while wading, and there is a risk of flooding even after washing the reel with water after use.
When flooded, the grease and water mix, causing emulsification, which results in drag operation problems.
With this EX spool, we have developed a structure that is more waterproof and also prevents flooding when wading.
The photo shows the reel submerged in red colored liquid and the spool disassembled. Because the drag washers are sealed in grease by the cassette drag, there was no flooding of the washers even when the reel was submerged.


Two Drag Tuning [T/Tough] [S/Soft]

Tough tuning for thicker lines with a sticky element in the sliding characteristics for powerful hooking and fighting.
Soft tuning for quick initial action on thin lines and flat drag slip for delicate fighting.
T and S are characterized by different felt materials and grease viscosities, with the 4000S model set for T tuning and the 4000SS model for S tuning.
