Buyer's impression
Various makers have released handle knobs in various shapes and materials,
However, the shape and material of the handle knobs are very different from each other.
The human fingertip is a very sensitive part of the body.
Finding a handle knob that fits your feeling is one of the funs of reel customization.
This time, we would like to give an impression of the newly released Super High Grip Knob from DAIWA.
The catch copy on the package reads, "A new grip that is non-slip and absorbs well.
Size S is the most common knob used on spinning reels in the 1000-2506 class and on many bait reel knobs.
Inside the package is the instruction manual, cap removal tool, adjustment washer, and handle knob cap.
The handle knob cap is made of plastic and is matte orange.
I installed the orange handle knob cap.
This makes it pop, but black or silver would have been safer...
I installed a HEDGEHOG STUDIO aluminum handle knob cap (Champagne Gold).
You can change the color of the cap according to your preference.
The caps are available in 12 colors and can be purchased in quantities of 1.

The left is the Super High Grip Knob, and the right is the genuine knob.
There is almost no difference in appearance.
How about the weight?
This is the Super High Grip Knob.
This is the genuine knob.
The weight is almost the same range, but the stock knob is slightly lighter.
Now let's touch the Super High Grip Knob.
It is indeed non-slip and has quite a good grip.
I thought it would feel quite sticky in my imagination, but it is not, and I feel no discomfort when I touch it.
When I compared it with the genuine knob, the difference in gripping power was obvious.
We tested its gripping power while splashing water to see if it would not slip even on a rainy day.
Although there is some slippage, it should be fine for normal fishing.
We also tested the genuine knob.
When I gripped it with the same force as the super high grip knob, it often slipped.
After wiping the water off the knob, we found that the grip of the Super High Grip Knob was even stronger.
Perhaps the tap water washed away the dirt or fine particles that were attached during manufacturing, and the original gripping power was restored.
If the grip strength decreases after use, cleaning the surface with a wet wipe or something similar might be a good idea, even if you don't wash it with water.
I would like to use it for bass fishing and mountain streams and trout during the severe cold season.
Especially when it gets cold, freezing fingertips are hard to bear, but it would be helpful in such situations.
