Item Description

- Advanced Evolution of the SHIMANO Drag System -

Drag sound that makes rivals envious!

While inheriting the mechanical drag mechanism of the long-selling SHIMANO drag system IOS S-System, the drag characteristics remain radical like the S-System, activating slightly at the initial movement, releasing line when needed, and stopping when necessary.
The pronounced drag pitch further enhances drag retention.
The highly rigid and high-precision body with hard anodized anti-corrosion treatment offers excellent spool holding power and improved winding sensitivity thanks to spool resonance.
It provides superior anti-corrosion performance for saltwater use and delivers a sharp, mechanical drag sound that rivals will envy.
The setup has been simplified to a single-hole specification for easy installation.

Choosing Between the S-System and S-System II

S-System: Fine drag pitch, ideal for delicate fishing

S-System II: Suitable for all genres, recommended for those who prefer louder drag sounds

Specifications
Main Unit: Anti-corrosion black anodized
Accessories: Anti-corrosion stainless steel bearings, etc.

Compatible Reels
Compatible with SHIMANO 1000 - C3000 class reels from 2017 onwards

Please Read Before Purchase

* Due to product characteristics, reverse rotation is not possible.
For detailed installation compatibility and setting data, please refer to the QR code on the product or visit our website.
* If there is interference noise from the spool, check for looseness. If loose, tighten securely again.
* For reels above the C3000 class, such as the 4000 class, please consider the sister product, S System Power.
* As this product is a darker color close to the silver shade of the S System, using it with louder drag sounds may accelerate spline wear, making scratches or marks more noticeable.
Please understand that this is due to the product's focus on drag performance.
* Reversing the rotation may significantly accelerate spline wear or cause damage. Please avoid reverse rotation.

Installation Method

Remove all stock drag parts.
A screwdriver for removal is not included.
Use the hex screw driver included with the S-System or D-System, or a commercially available screwdriver.

The hex screw driver size is 0.9mm for hexagonal holes.

Set the S System II body and secure it with the hex screws provided with the product.

Refer to the setting data and install the adjustment shims.

- S System II Setting Data

Reel Shim (mm)
Hole position: Single hole
22 STELLA 1000 1mm
22 STELLA C3000 1mm
18 STELLA C3000 1mm
24 TWIN POWER 2mm
17 TWIN POWER 2mm
19 or 23 Vanquish 1000 - C3000 1.5mm
19 Vanquish 1000 - C3000 1.5mm

Set the dedicated bearing, with the narrower side facing up.

Install the fixing O-ring to complete the process.

After winding the line, if a reverse taper occurs, add adjustment shims. If a forward taper occurs, reduce the adjustment shims to achieve parallel winding.

The setting data is for reference only.
It may vary depending on the thickness of the line and the type of line roller you are using.

To Increase Drag Sound

Follow the steps below:

* Note that increasing the drag sound will accelerate spline wear. Please understand this in advance.

Loosen the fixing screw of the sound pin.

Detach the spring's tip from the spool.

Use pliers to bend the spring tip in the opposite direction.
The greater the bending angle, the louder the sound.

Return the spring tip to its original position and tighten the fixing screw to complete the process.

Troubleshooting

- Issue 1: Uneven line winding after installation

(Response)
Adjust the thickness of the adjustment shims.
For forward taper, reduce the shim thickness.
For reverse taper, increase the shim thickness.
Also, ensure that the stock black washer is not being used.

- Issue 2: No drag sound after installation

(Response)
Check if the adjustment shim is excessively thick or if the stock black washer is not installed above the bearing.

- Issue 3: Spool does not reverse

(Response)
This is normal by design.
Forcing reverse rotation accelerates spline wear.

- Issue 4: Linear scratches appear on the spline.

(Response)
This is a characteristic of the drag performance enhancement parts. Please be aware in advance.
You can try adjusting the drag pawl plate position up or down to generate drag sound at a new spline position.
However, note that louder drag settings cause significant wear.

- Issue 5: For Vanquish and similar reels, the S-System bearing or O-ring remains on the spool side when removing the spool.

(Response)
Wrap pliers with vinyl tape and gently expand the spool receiving part of the S-System evenly outward.
A slight force will suffice to expand it.
Excessive force may cause significant deformation or scratches, so proceed at your own responsibility.
