[BORED] METHOD / BSLU VG540 High-Viscosity Multi-Purpose Oil

BSLU is the flagship high-viscosity, multi-purpose oil from the BORED METHOD DIVISION lineup.
As a best-selling, all-purpose oil within the METHOD series, it excels in oil film performance, anti-rust properties, and friction reduction.
Designed for both fishing reels and cycling parts, it emphasizes over-specified “durability” and offers wide-ranging compatibility.

The BSLU oil is the result of continuous upgrades and refinements from the original BSL oil series, culminating in this 2023 model change after six years since the release of the previous BSLR oil in 2017.
The viscosity is increased to VG540, but the performance feels even thicker and more adhesive than the numbers suggest, thanks to the newly hybridized molecular structure of the base oil.
By hybridizing polyalphaolefin synthetic oil with ester synthetic oil, the product achieves robust oil film adhesion both chemically and physically.
Enhanced anti-rust and friction-reducing properties are realized through the highest-ever concentration of additives, making this oil an ultimate choice for durability.

BSLU also supports user-customized blending with other METHOD oils to create original viscosity and characteristics.
Like other METHOD products, it uses premium 100% synthetic base oils and avoids harmful chlorine-based or heavy metal materials, as well as solid additives like Teflon and molybdenum, adhering to BORED METHOD DIVISION's founding policy.

- Internal bearings of baitcasting reels (size 200–400) for freshwater and saltwater use.
- Internal bearings of spinning reels (size 5000–18000) for freshwater and saltwater use.
- Internal bearings of baitcasting reels equipped with long handles.
- Bearings in reels used for heavy-weight lures and jigs.
- Bearings in large reels originally intended for grease usage.

Notes

* Read the “Usage Precautions” included in the product images before use.
* Although validated for intended applications, compatibility with materials may vary. Test on rubber or plastic components beforehand.
* Due to the water-resistant and anti-rust additives, the oil may temporarily emulsify upon contact with water. This will naturally improve upon drying.
* During colder periods, the oil may appear cloudy. This will not affect its performance and can be resolved by shaking or warming the bottle.
* Thoroughly degrease and clean existing oils or greases before use. Avoid mixing with products from other brands.
* When blending with other METHOD oils, warm the oils to approximately 60°C using a water bath for optimal mixing.
* Not compatible with discontinued BSLR or HYDRA oils for blending.
* Recommended shelf life is approximately one year after opening, subject to storage conditions and temperature variations.
* The security cap detaches upon opening and is no longer required for subsequent use. Dispose of it after removal.
