[BORED] METHOD / THICK HEAVY Ultra-High Viscosity VG640 Low Friction Oil

THICK HEAVY is a concept oil from the BORED METHOD DIVISION lineup, featuring ultra-high viscosity, high adhesiveness, and low friction.
Alongside LIGHT DUTY oil, it has been a long-selling product within the METHOD oil series. It provides a sticky, honey-like texture that is effective not only on metals but also on resin components, emphasizing durability of the oil film. THICK HEAVY is widely compatible with fishing reels and cycling parts.

The honey-like viscosity adheres strongly to parts, maintaining an oil film that resists centrifugal forces. With superior additives for friction reduction and extreme pressure resistance, it is less prone to seizing during fitting processes and works well with titanium parts, which are prone to sticking.
For fishing reels, it is recommended for medium-to-large models with resin parts or internal bearings. In cycling applications, it is ideal for press-fit operations utilizing the flow properties of the oil film, such as on headset cups or axle shafts.
By blending polyalphaolefin synthetic oil as the base oil with ester synthetic oil as a supplement, THICK HEAVY achieves strong adhesion and film properties on both metals and resin components. This prevents oil scattering in bearings and plastic gears, maintaining a steady supply of lubrication and targeting durability as the primary goal.

Users can customize viscosity and properties by mixing THICK HEAVY with other METHOD oils. As with all METHOD products, it is made exclusively from premium, 100% synthetic base oils without using harmful chlorine-based or heavy metal materials, Teflon, or molybdenum additives, adhering to the founding policy of BORED METHOD DIVISION.

Notes

* Read the “Usage Precautions” included in the product images before use.
* Although validated for intended applications, compatibility with materials may vary. Test on rubber or plastic components beforehand.
* Due to the water-resistant and anti-corrosion additives, the oil may temporarily emulsify upon contact with water, but this will improve naturally upon drying.
* Thoroughly degrease and clean existing oils or greases before use. Avoid mixing with products from other brands.
* When customizing blends with other METHOD oils, warm the oils to approximately 60°C using a water bath for optimal mixing.
* Not compatible with discontinued BSLR or HYDRA oils.
* Recommended shelf life is approximately one year after opening, subject to storage conditions and temperature variations.
* The security cap, which detaches upon opening, is not required for subsequent use and can be discarded.
