[SUNLINE] Shooter MACHINEGUN CAST

New Technology P-Ion Equipped! Ultra Durability Sought in the Third Generation!

Material: Nylon Line
Color / Length: New At Brown / 150m single, 100m single

Features

- Hundreds to thousands of casts in a day can severely damage the line surface.
By applying “P-Ion” processing, which uses Sunline’s latest plasma processing technology, the surface is modified to have a tough exterior, providing durability that feels almost like fluorocarbon.
Additionally, the line release from the guide feels so smooth that it seems almost frictionless.
The smoothly releasing line eliminates even the slightest wobble, allowing you to aim precisely at your target.

- The specialized design for different line sizes emphasizes low stretch for thinner lines.
As the size increases, it prioritizes smooth spooling, achieving exceptional usability.

- Adopts parallel winding, which prevents line collapse and allows for uniform use until the end.

- Practical 150m roll with 75m marking.
(22lb, 25lb, and 30lb are 100m rolls with 50m marking)

Low Stretch Nylon Line = NAMIKI ISM

Throughout the long history of bass fishing in Japan, many products have been released to the market.
Among them, how many are still loved by anglers and producing results in the field?
There is a commonality between being loved and producing results.
It is “Authentic.”
As times change and evolve, new technologies are added, further polishing the authenticity.
We want you to enjoy that “Evolution” with the “Shooter MACHINEGUN CAST.”

In lure fishing, “casting” is an indispensable action.
Especially in bass fishing, compared to other lure games, you cast long distances, short distances, into structures, covers, etc., from various angles and present the lure to the target point.
So, where does the most burden fall on the tackle in this situation?
It is probably the line.
The maximum speed of the line passing through the guide can reach up to 40 km/h.
Considering continuous casting from dawn to dusk, the state of the line at the end of the day compared to when it was new can be seen in the line whitening.
Then, the feeling of “squeakiness” when the surface coating is gone.
Of course, it can still be used for the next fishing trip, but damage accumulates on the surface and inside of the line.
The third generation “Shooter MACHINEGUN CAST” was developed to solve this problem.

World's First P-Ion Equipped for Remarkably Improved Durability

Already adopted for main lines in rock fishing and highly rated, “P-Ion” is used for the first time in lure fishing lines with “Shooter MACHINEGUN CAST.”
This dramatically changes the durability.
The difference is evident in the image below.

There isn’t much difference up to the 100th cast, but the old product without P-Ion processing starts to show micro-surface scratches spreading after 200 casts.
Why does this difference occur?
It’s because “P-Ion” modifies the surface of the line itself, maintaining a smooth state, not just surface coating.
In fact, during the development of the second-generation Machinegun Cast, pro Namiki pointed out “surface coating durability” as an issue.
He continuously sought performance that could withstand “machinegun casting,” as the name suggests.
After 10 years since the second generation’s release, that ideal has been realized with the latest technology.
Maintaining a smooth state reduces friction with the guide, enabling smooth casting.
Moreover, with water repellency, it solves the problem of sticking to the rod or guide, making it easier to approach the target point.

Operability and High Sensitivity Brought by Low Stretch

The concept that Toshinari Namiki sought from the first-generation Machinegun Cast was to “achieve low stretch like fluorocarbon with nylon.”
This has been inherited unchanged even in the third generation.
For example, it is necessary to transmit hooking power without loss and to perform actions like topwater at a distance.
Also, when winding spinnerbaits with high resistance, it eliminates the unpleasant stretch typical of nylon lines, allowing you to feel the blade resistance and water flow changes while searching.
In test fishing, it successfully captured good-sized fish by attacking reeds, vegetation, and man-made structures with rubber jigs.
The fight was, of course, aggressive.
While nylon lines are generally perceived to be weak against abrasion, this is not an issue with Shooter MACHINEGUN CAST.

As shown in the table below, it far surpasses other brands.

Nylon (Polyamide Monofilament)
Nylon is flexible and easy to handle, suitable for all types of fishing.
In terms of strength, it surpasses fluorocarbon in both linear and knot strength when dry.
Due to its high flexibility, it fits well on reels, absorbs sudden shocks with moderate elasticity, and is widely used from beginners to tournament anglers.
Nylon absorbs water more easily than other materials, so timely replacement allows it to maintain its inherent characteristics.

Sinking Speed (Specific Gravity) 1.14 (varies slightly by nylon type)
Abrasion Resistance Soft surface makes it prone to scratches
Water Absorption Yes
(absorbs water, increasing diameter)
Strength / Linear Pull Strong
Flexibility Soft
Knot Strength About 85% of linear pull strength
Stretch Rate Yes
(absorbs shocks with moderate stretch, but high initial stretch rate)
Refractive Index 1.53
