Anglers Impression – – –

Kazuharu Asakawa, who has been facing seabass with ultra-sensitive theories and outstanding skills.
The only seabass line that Asakawa, who has a more severe and rigorous perspective than anyone else, trusts is the ‘VARIVAS Avani Seabass PE Max Power X8.’
Let's delve into the reasons behind it.

Among 8-Braid PE Lines, a Special Presence to Securely Catch the Target

The water-cutting speed of PE lines is proportional to the density of the braiding.
PE lines with loose braiding retain water and do not cut through water well.
On the other hand, PE lines with “dense” and “fine” braiding have rapid water-cutting capabilities, significantly improving lure maneuverability.
This directly impacts the catch rate.
Kazuharu Asakawa, who is convinced of this fact from extensive practical experience, trusts the ‘VARIVAS Avani Seabass PE Max Power X8.’
“There are many 8-braid PE lines, but the VARIVAS Avani Seabass PE Max Power X8 has incredibly dense braiding.
Additionally, it has a super fluorine coating on the surface, making its use extremely smooth.”
The smooth surface of the line is deeply related not only to its water-cutting ability but also to the reduction of line troubles.
“Even after long-term use, there are virtually no troubles such as tangling around the guides or winding around various parts of the reel.
That’s why I can’t let go of this line.”
Furthermore, the silky finish of the line surface allows most troubles to be resolved by gently pulling it while wet if any kinks occur.
“I’ve used many lines before, but this is the only one that is this smooth.
The reliability is immense.”

Asakawa’s Criteria for Selecting Line Sizes

The ‘Avani Seabass PE Max Power X8’ is available in four sizes: #0.8, #1, #1.2, and #1.5.
When selecting line sizes, Asakawa considers “structure density” and “target size & condition” as the top priorities.
In his main style of wading games in tidal flats, the bottom is mostly “muddy” or “gravel” in open water.
“In such cases, I use #0.8 or #1.
The choice between #0.8 and #1 depends on the seabass’s power.”
Throughout the year, “autumn,” when seabass power tends to be stronger, he chooses #1.
“Even in autumn power games, #0.8 is sufficient, but I choose #1 for added reliability.”
On the other hand, for the rock seabass game known as “Iso Maru,” which doesn’t directly involve contacting roots like the Hiraseabass game on rough rocks, there is still a risk of running into roots.
“To account for the risk of contacting roots, I often choose #1.5 for Iso Maru games.
However, when targeting Iso Maru and long-distance casting is crucial, I use #1.2.”
Incidentally, Asakawa’s main line for river seabass is #1.
However, in areas with many “bamboo stakes,” “sunken rocks,” or around bridge piers, he chooses #1.2.

Choosing Based on Coolness Is Also Fun: Two Colors to Choose From Depending on Use

The ‘VARIVAS Avani Seabass PE Max Power X8’ comes in two colors: Stealth Gray and Status Gold.
“Both colors are excellent, so I think the selection criteria come down to preference.
Personally, I prefer Stealth Gray.”
It looks cool!
The luxury feel when wound on the reel is outstanding!
Using it alone boosts your mood!
Asakawa shyly explained the reasons why he loves Stealth Gray.
The allure of Stealth Gray, which has captivated Asakawa, known for his ultra-meticulous theories, is impressive.
Of course, there are theoretical reasons as well.
Even in night games, a little streetlight ensures visibility.
In day games, visibility is ensured as long as it’s matched with the sea surface and not the sky color.
However, the other color, Status Gold, also has many theoretical advantages, so the primary reason I prefer Stealth Gray is its coolness!
It’s really cool (laughs).
