The water-cutting speed of PE lines is proportional to the density of the braiding.
PE lines with loose braiding retain water and do not cut through water well.
On the other hand, PE lines with “dense” and “fine” braiding have rapid water-cutting capabilities, significantly improving lure maneuverability.
This directly impacts the catch rate.

Throughout the year, “autumn,” when seabass power tends to be stronger, he chooses #1.
“Even in autumn power games, #0.8 is sufficient, but I choose #1 for added reliability.”
On the other hand, for the rock seabass game known as “Iso Maru,” which doesn’t directly involve contacting roots like the Hiraseabass game on rough rocks, there is still a risk of running into roots.
“To account for the risk of contacting roots, I often choose #1.5 for Iso Maru games.
However, when targeting Iso Maru and long-distance casting is crucial, I use #1.2.”
Incidentally, Asakawa’s main line for river seabass is #1.
However, in areas with many “bamboo stakes,” “sunken rocks,” or around bridge piers, he chooses #1.2.
