The BRIST HYDRO 8.5XXH is primarily developed for targeting massive sea bass and Japanese lates with big baits. It also considers large migratory fish in offshore casting games. This ultra-heavy, versatile rod is built to confront big fish.

The guide set is designed to maximize the flexibility of the blanks, ensuring the line does not interfere with the blanks even when tightened to the butt.
Large-diameter guides are also used to ensure the smooth passage of thick lines.

Grip
The design addresses the gap between the hand and the grip when using large bait reels for giant fish.
The rear grip features a “bulge” for palming support to support long casting periods.

Blanks
The blanks are robust, with a delicate yet firm tip.
This design eliminates tip wobble after casting, reducing line entanglement and backlash while improving casting distance.

Blanks

From massive sea bass to Japanese lates and offshore up to 40kg class yellowfin tuna.
The rod is designed with Fishman’s unique taper, combining the power to not lose to big fish with the flexibility to follow them and bring them to the surface without letting them thrash.


Tip

The blanks are robust, but the tip is designed to be delicate and firm, eliminating wobble after casting and contributing to reduced trouble.


Guide Setting

Even when fully bent, the line does not interfere with the blanks.
Large-diameter guides are set to ensure the smooth passage of thick lines.


Grip Area

The rear grip features a bulge for palming support to fill the gap between the hand and grip when using large bait reels.
This design helps reduce fatigue even after long casting periods.


Grip End

The grip end has a bulging rubber part, and the EVA is shaped to prevent slipping during casting and fighting.
It comes with a dedicated soft case.


Attention to Joint Loosening

Due to the nature of pack rods, joints may loosen after repeated casting.
Ensure all joints are securely connected to prevent breakage or rod damage.
Applying ferrule wax can prevent joints from loosening during casting and protect them from sticking after moisture intrusion.
Always check the joints and use ferrule wax after several casts.
