A limited number of models have been produced to accommodate DAIWA reels with ZELOS machine cut star drags.

It has a larger diameter than standard genuine star drags and a long arm design for easier control of line slack.

Installation Method

The adjustment washers shown here may or may not be necessary depending on the individual differences and compatibility of the reel.
They are common adjustment parts used when installing any maker's star drags and handles, so you may not need them when installing long-arm star drags. Still, it may be useful to have them as a spare.


(Group A) When the genuine star drag is an SCL (screwless) star drag



Remove the drag nut, spring, and factory star drag and replace them with a long-arm star drag.

*The height of the SCL star drag remains constant (at the highest position closest to the handle) even when the drag is turned. Still, when it is replaced with a long-arm star drag, the height of the star drag will change depending on how tight it is.。


(Group B) When the genuine star drag is the standard star drag



Remove the stock star drag and handle collar, and replace them with a long arm star drag.

*The following handle adjustment washer may be required for models with the arrow handle collar installed.
If the handle is not secured even after tightening the handle lock nut, please purchase an additional handle adjustment washer and set it under the handle.

*Other adjustment methods



Suppose the drag becomes partially locked even after replacing it with a long-arm star drag. In that case, the following adjustment washers can make it tighter.
Please set them under the star drag.

*The number and thickness of washers may vary depending on individual reels. Still, please overlap the washers so that the total thickness is approximately 1.0 mm - 1.5 mm.
