Reel stands and handle caps are easy-to-install dress-up parts for spinning reels that also make a strong visual impact.

Various custom parts manufacturers have released compatible parts, and the number of options continues to grow.
So we've created a comparison guide to help you choose more easily.

Matching reel stands and handle caps from the same manufacturer as your custom handle gives a cohesive look,
but mixing different brands or paying attention to color coordination can also be a lot of fun.

Note that not all spinning reels can be fitted with handle caps or reel stands.
This is due to differences in screw standards and sizes between reels.

Among small to medium-sized spinning reels, compatibility is generally divided into the following four groups.

Please choose the type that matches your reel.

The following group classification is based on HEDGEHOG STUDIO's standards.
(The group names may vary depending on the custom parts manufacturer.)

1. DAIWA & SHIMANO Shared [Type A]

This is the most common standard, and most custom parts manufacturers produce compatible items for it.
It is designed to work with both DAIWA and SHIMANO reels, making it compatible with the widest range of models.
Most reels can use this type.
However, if your SHIMANO reel is not listed as compatible with this type, it likely cannot be installed at this time.

2. DAIWA [Type B]

This type is for DAIWA only and is not compatible with the standard type mentioned above.
A typical compatible reel in recent years is the 17 THEORY, but the first models included the EMERALDAS MX.
In the future, more DAIWA reels may support this type.

Also note that even within the same reel name series such as “EMERALDAS,” “GEKKABIJIN,” or “AEGIS,”
the compatible type may vary depending on suffixes like “EX,” “AIR,” or “MX” after the reel name,
so please check the compatible models carefully.

3. DAIWA REVROS, EM MS, etc. [Type C]

This DAIWA-specific type applies to reels where turning the handle also causes the cap on the opposite side to rotate.

4. SHIMANO NASCI, etc. [Type D]

5. DAIWA Saltiga, Catalina, etc. [Type E]

Exclusive to large offshore-type DAIWA reels.
Currently, no reel stands can be attached directly, so use the ideR Design adapter for installation.

6. ABU MGX, etc. [Type F]

Exclusive to ABU. Currently, no reel stands can be attached directly, so use the ideR Design adapter for installation.

7. DAIWA 11 CALDIA, 13 AEGIS, etc. [Type G]

Exclusive to DAIWA. These reels have a unique screw structure.
Currently, no reel stands can be attached directly, so use the ideR Design adapter for installation.
